AG EQUIPMENT DEALERSHIPS PARALLEL AG AND A.C. McCARTNEY OFFICIALLY MERGE
DURAND, ILLINOIS (June 1, 2024) – As of May 31, 2024, A.C. McCartney (ACM) has officially joined the Parallel Ag family of dealerships. The merger of these two companies provides more resources and territory to the loyal customers of both long-standing dealerships. This merger increases Parallel Ag’s family of dealerships to 17 stores across Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Minnesota, and Illinois.
"We at Parallel Ag are extremely excited to work with the team at A.C. McCartney to help serve our customers in Illinois and beyond. ACM’s rich history of service and the great people there make it a perfect fit for our plans of continued growth and diversity in geography and markets. The scale we will both gain from this partnership will give us the ability to offer even more benefits and services to our customers and the added experience and expertise that each company brings." said Parallel Ag President Shawn Skaggs.
The closure of this merger allows customers to witness the start of changes and significant benefits, such as a broader network that provides additional options and cross-trained product specialists to buyers. These two industry leaders combined massive parts inventories, significantly increasing the availability of parts and expert, 24/7 service.
Since 1950, ACM has been an industry leader because of its extensive knowledge of AGCO and other farm, construction, and consumer equipment. After 74 years of following its founder Allen McCartney’s motto, “Take care of the customer, and you will be successful,” ACM has grown to service more than 60 counties in Illinois. This lasting impression on the market will continue in the Parallel Ag brand through unending attention to detail and fundamentals of customer service. Woody McCartney, President of A.C. McCartney, said, “We are excited to join the Parallel Ag family. The merger provides ACM with the resources to continue to grow our business and serve our customers just as we have for the past 74 years. Parallel Ag aligns perfectly with ACM’s values, and I am confident they are the best partner for our brand, our customers, and our employees.” Further, the McCartney family is joining the Parallel Ag ownership group in the new entity.
Parallel Ag was established on January 1, 2023, after Ag Solutions Group and Livingston Machinery merged and unified. ACM now proudly joins those 12 stores that have adopted the Parallel Ag name. The new identity has further strengthened its impact on the agricultural equipment industry. ACM will continue to operate under the A.C. McCartney brand name while both organizations learn to work together and grow into one entity. In the Midwest, Parallel Ag is known for their extensive knowledge of fertilizer and chemical application equipment. Parallel Ag is an industry-leading AGCO dealer in the Southern Plains with a reputation in extensive commercial agriculture, focusing on hay equipment and high-horsepower tractors. Both regions have merged their operations seamlessly and efficiently, learning from each region's strengths, and look forward to adding ACM’s extensive knowledge to their plans. The Upper Midwest region has benefited from A.C. McCartney's expertise in combine, planters, and tractors for three generations. ACM’s deep inventory and superb knowledge of agriculture equipment, construction equipment, consumer products, and precision solutions ensures they stay an industry leader.
